Got Questions?

Hopefully these are the answers you are looking for!

What Content can I Expect inside the HPH Membership?

Each month a new course is added to both your dashboard and the HPH Homebase page. The course is a little package of all the goodies for the month, centred around that particular month’s subject theme.

Within each monthly course, which is published on the first day of the month, you will find

  • an introduction to the theme of the month and a little show and tell of what I have been creating on that theme
  • a sketchbook project where you get to try out your drawing skills and play with some dry media for a bit of a change
  • a quick watercolour painting project - a simple painting that takes less than 30 minutes to complete (complete with references and line drawings)
  • a main watercolour painting project - a painting that takes a bit more than 30 minutes (complete with references and line drawings)
  • a library of curated reference photos in the theme of the month so that you always have something to paint and can add to your monthly series if you wish

In addition to the new course that will appear in the Hub on the first day of every month, you will also find the Welcome Pack. This is a separate course which provides:

  • a welcome tour of the membership, showing you how to get the most out of the classroom
  • the HPH manifesto which explains the ethos of the hub and provides a few helpful thoughts to keep in mind when you are painting. Theres also a printable one page version if you want to keep this in your painting studio or stick it into your sketchbook.
  • Video answers to all the frequently asked questions so that you have an easy way to get answers at any time if you need to. Of course you can always email me and I will be happy to help

And of course, just in case you need some information about supplies, I have added the Beginners’ Guide to Watercolour Supplies to the Hub too. You may have already taken this course, but I wanted to make sure it was easily accessible for you in case you want to revisit something.

What Supplies Will I Need?

I always recommend that you use what you already have. There is no need to use exactly the same supplies or colours as I am using. I always include details of exactly what I use in each lesson but the broad basics include

  •  300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper either loose sheets, pads or sketchbooks - whatever you like best or have to hand
  • a large round watercolour brush, and possibly a rigger (although even that is very much optional)
  • watercolour paints
  • a sketchbook or just loose sheets of copier paper and a pencil for sketching

How Do I Ask for Help?

If you have questions there are a few options:

  • check the FAQs in the Welcome Pack inside your dashboard for fast answers to common questions
  • click on the little black button that says ‘discussion’ at the top right of the classroom within any lesson
  • email me directly either  by replying to any email I have sent to you or just use this address [email protected]

How Does Enrolment and Billing Work?

Enrolment opens only a few times every year.

Click here to find out more about that.

Once you subscribe to the membership, you will automatically be charged on a monthly basis. The membership fee is very low at the moment because the Hub is so new. Over time, more and more content will be added so it is likely that the fee will increase in future enrolment periods.

However, when the subscription fee increases, existing members will continue to pay the low fee they originally signed up for. That means you never have to worry about the subscription fee increasing for as long as you are a member.

Don’t worry - that doesn’t mean you are stuck with me forever, cancelling or changing your billing is easy. You can do it all yourself!

How Do I Cancel my Membership?

Fear not - cancelling (or changing your credit card details) is easy. You can do it yourself.

All you need to do is go to your account by clicking on your name or the little circle next to it on the top right of the dashboard screen, go to Your Account and choose Billing.

From there you can edit your credit card details or cancel your subscription with one click.
